Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) has refuted claims that the agency has closed issuing bonus payments as claimed by a section of farmers.
Through a press release, the agency said all the 54 tea factories are yet to close their financial books of records.
The KTDA said there was no communication from the factories and that any information and called on farmers to ignore any innuendos that they would not receive bonus payments.
“The 54 tea factory companies managed by KTDA are yet to close their financial books for the
year ending June 30, 2020. In this regard, there has been no communication from the tea
factory companies to their farmers regarding the final payment, commonly known as “bonus”, the press release read in part.
The agency urged farmers to treat any other pronouncement over the matter as a mere speculations.
