A real estate company, Optiven Limited has entered into an empowerment deal with Bar Hotels and Liquor Traders Association of Kenya (Bahlita) in a deal that will provide opportunities for association members to become property owners.
The deal means that members of the association can consistently deposit as low as Sh100daily to own a plot and seeks to give them opportunities to take the pick from the nationwide portfolio of properties under the Optiven real estate arm.
Association’s chairperson Simo Wa Jogoo said the partnership will run for one year and will cover the provision of investment in any of the projects managed by Optiven as well as granted benefits under a special memorandum of understanding between the two companies.
Speaking at the Optiven’s headquarters where the signing of the agreement took place, Mr Jogoo said his group that brings together over 50000 members from across 41 counties was excited to enter into the deal as it gives them a reason to put more emphasizes in their businesses.
“This is a major milestone in our association as members are given opportunity to become the property owners with little profit from the bar industry, we chose Optiven due to its credibility that guarantee us that we will not be exposing our money into risks,” he said.
While welcoming the agreement, Optiven Chief Executive George Wachiuri said the future of the corporate sector lies in partnerships.
He hailed the pact saying it gives over 50000 people an opportunity to own a plot in a place of their choice anywhere they wish in the country.
We are humbled to partner with the association, this is a game changer of corporates since we understand that the future belongs to corporates that come together,” he said.
Mr Wachiuri added that for over 20 years of the real estate’s operation, they have been in partnerships with companies under special Memorandums of Understanding a move that has seen them empower and transform the society.
