Council of Eminent Persons in Muranga that brings together renowned businessmen want politicians to stop instigating chaos saying the move may scare away investors.
The Council which brings together tycoons such as Peter Munga, Royal Media Services chairperson S K Macharia, former PS Joe Kibe, former ACK Bishop Gideon Githiga, Dr Nyamu Njoka, Maina Wanjigi, Muthoni Likimani among others says should investors draw away their services unemployment will be the order of the day.
Speaking at Golden Palm Hotel Kenol on Tuesday, 3 of the Council members led by their chair Mr Kibe added that politically instigated violence is driving an already fragile county deeper into hopelessness precipitated by a combination of extreme poverty militia, violence, alcoholism and drug abuse.
“Political violence and hooliganism make a mockery of liberators from the county such as General Kago and General Ihura who paid ultimate price so that we mat live as free citizens in safety and prosperity,” Mr Kibe told journalists.
The Council want government to spare no effort to ensure that security law and order in the county is maintained.
“There is great need to contain political hooliganism and reign in on the gangs and militia groups which is now the talk of the county,” said elders.
