Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress has laid bare its irreducible minimum grounds that must be met for them to commit in the revival of National Super Alliance.

Key among them is if the Nasa affiliate parties which includes ODM will agree to back Mudavadi as the coalition’s flag bearer in the next year’s polls.

Lawyer Simon Gikuru from Musalia Mudavadi Center (MM Center) also wants the ODM to apologize for the transgressions that it meted out on Nasa coalition partners.

The transgressions according to Lawyer Gikuru include betrayal by ODM of going for the handshake alone without informing other coalition partners, refusal by ODM to share resources from the Political Parties Fund amongst partners and their bullish behavior of removing leader of Minority in the Senate among other departmental heads.

“Several other members of coalition were either denied or removed from critical Parliamentary parties without requisite consultative process,” Gikuru said.

He added that there was an agreement amongst Nasa principals that the party that produced Presidential candidate in 2017 would not be eligible to field a candidate next year if the coalition stuck together.

He noted that Nasa failed because of breach of trust by some key Nasa principals after the 2017 election.

“The coalition is dead and irredeemable and can’t be salvaged this was because of unilateral decisions by some Coalition members to enter into arrangements with other parties without necessary consultations,” Gikuru said.

The lawyer cited Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto’s Chama cha Mashinani which left the coalition and is now actively engaged with other partners.

He however said ANC had a strong belief that Nasa coalition captured the aspirations of millions of Kenyans who support the pact.

“We remain committed to the coalition ideals which included national reconciliation and healing, solving historical injustices, realization of equality of women youth and disadvantaged communities and groups among other ideals,” Gikuru said.

He said ANC has already endorsed Mudavadi as their flag bearer and are now waiting the action of Nasa partners.

On One Kenya Alliance, (OKA), Gikuru said it was an emerging conversation and that any like-minded partners were welcome
