Even as Gaturi by election slated on December 15, draws near, Esther Mwihaki Kamau is under intense pressure from high powered government officials to step down in favour of Ms Rosemary Wakuthi.
She says a social media post from one of the Tanga Tanga adherents complicated her case and informed Kieleweke stalwarts to initiate a series of emissaries to convince her to down her campaign tools
Ms Mwihaki who narrowly lost to the Jubilee candidate want both teams to leave her to follow her political ambitions saying it is her democratic right to seek an elective post without fear, coercion and intimidation.
She says she has been a staunch supporter of government promising that should she emerge victorious she will still continue supporting it to deliver the big four agenda among other targets.
“We are 9 candidates why I’m the only one being singled out to step aside? Its totally unfair and a lot of injustice to me,” she told our political desk.
She says she decided to decamp to Peoples Empowerment Party (PEP) due to some hitches experienced during the Jubilee party primaries such as delay in delivering of election materials and some irregularities.
Gaturi politics are usually driven by regional factors which is upper and lower Gaturi a move that may work negatively to the Jubilee candidate with or without Ms Esther Mwihaki.
