A section of Murang’a leaders have appointed Former Presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth to spearhead unity amongst them to soldier as a one formidable team as succession politics nears.
The leaders led by Senate Chief Whip Irungu Kangata, Maragua’s Mary Wamaua, and Gatanga MP Nduati Ngugi have also pleaded with President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider Mr Kenneth during the reorganization of Cabinet which is aimed at fumigating the cabinet to do away with errant Cabinet Secretaries who do not support President Kenyatta’s big four agenda.
The trio who spoke at Kiambamba shopping center of Kambiti location in Murang’a sang heaps of praises for Mr Kenneth recounting how he performed exemplary when he was Gatanga legislator and when he held various government portfolio.
“He has no blemish on corruption despite serving in various lucrative government positions, his Constituency to date remembers him due to proper and prudent management of NGCDF funds,” Mr Nduati said.
Mr Nduati who is the MP for Mr Kenneth said his (Kenneth) leadership skills speaks volumes remembering how he uplifted lives due to transparency and honesty in managing public resources.
On her part Ms Wamaua said Mr Kenneth was the best placed leader to unify the County and Mt Kenya region and rally the region behind BBI, a brainchild of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
She said Mr Kenneth apart from being the senior most politician is also the most experienced politician apart from President Uhuru Kenyatta saying he should be incorporated in Cabinet to assist the President to implement and actualize his agenda for the nation.
“He should be considered during the reorganization of government to offer his vast experience in governance and support to Jubilee government,” she added.
Senator Irungu Kangata said he will continue pushing to have the Kirwara son, a banker and lawyer to be included in government.
“His experience will be of great help to the Jubilee adminstration and it would only be fair to have him in government, he has been supportive of the President and has never gone against his agenda,” Mr Kangata added.
The Chief Whip announced that Murang’a County was united and would be led by Mr Kenneth to face the succession politics as a team and to ensure that they bargain for the county and the region at the bargaining table.
“Murang’a has been supporting other Presidential candidates and a time has come that the County produces a leader with political knowledge and understanding to represent Murang’a and the region at the bargaining table,” He said.
During the function hundreds of locals from Kambiti benefited from food stuffs from Mr Kangata which he sourced from among other people, Peter Kenneth.
