Former Presidential Aspirant Peter Kenneth on Saturday, held a three hour meeting with three Muranga leaders over a little misunderstanding about supporting the Presidential agenda and unity of Mt Kenya region
The three who included Senator Irungu Kangata, Mary Waithira Wamaua (Maragua) Wangari Mwaniki (Kigumo) and Nduati Ngugi (Gatanga) met with Peter Kenneth at Thika Greens Hotel where all agreed to work closely and in consultations with Mr Kenneth to support the President’s agenda and to unify a region as a pact.
The leaders had earlier claimed that Mr Kenneth was playing politics but after getting news from the horses mouth agreed to work together to solidify the President’s region for the remaining two years and then face the 2022 succession politics as a team to ensure that the region remains intact.
Mr Kenneth who is known for his soberness, transparency and a human being with no traces of tribalism and ethnicity discussed with leaders why they must remain united advising them on dangers of disunity which amounts and not limited to being left out in the bargaining table during the division of the national cake and making of governments.
Gatanga MP Nduati Ngugi confirmed to Kkonlinenews.co.ke that the meeting took place and the leaders discovered that Mr Kenneth was not actually engaged in succession politics but was focused in supporting and complimenting the President’s Big 4 agenda and unity.
He explained that Mr Kenneth used his political experience to discuss real issues with the leaders having been ranked as the best MP for his National Government Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF) when he was Gatanga MP.
A banker on trade and a holder of a law degree from University of Nairobi, Mr Kenneth has a wealthy of experience in management of public resources and excellent leadership skills having been the chairperson for Kenya Football Federation and a FIFA committee member when he made visible strides in soccer industry.
The Kirwara son broke the political record in 2004 when he was appointed as an assistant minister in the Ministry of Cooperative Development and marketing two years after his election after which he joined the Ministry of Finance as an assistant minister in 2005.
Three years later and due to his prowess, he held the same rank at the Ministry of State for Planning National Development and Vision 2030.
Surprisingly, even after holding all the above mentioned positions, Mr Kenneth has never been accused of mismanagement of public resources, nepotism, tribalism or any other vice that has been normalised by public servants.
He has also worked at the highest levels of Africa Reinsurance Corporation, Industrial Development Bank and the Zep Reinsurance Company where he impacted his knowledge and wisdom in the banking sector.
The meeting at Thika Greens, our political desk has learnt was whipped by Mp Nduati Ngugi who whips the county leadership at Parliament.
Mr Ngugi is credited with whipping the County to support the ruling Jubilee administration where leaders’ support to President Uhuru Kenyatta has surpassed that of Kenyatta’s home county.
