A Muranga nominated Mca has been engaged on an online tiff with Elgeyo Senator Kipchumba Murkomen over the latter’s County Government Amendment Bill 2017.
Ms Wambui Njoki, an ardent social media user criticized the Senator for his bill saying it opened a flood gate for governors to ‘sponsor recalls of profound/ stubborn MCAs for their selfish political gains’ and Murkomen could not stomach the opinion.
She continued and told the Senator who is also a lawyer that him and law were socially distancing and that he was the biggest enemy to all MCAs.
According to Ms Njoki, the bill which has since been assented into law by President Uhuru Kenyatta is bad for MCAs .
“The President and the drafters of this bill should realize that majority of those MCAs who won had about 30 to 40 per cent of votes cast, meaning we have over 50 per cent of voters that did not agree with that win, that is the group that will be used for political scores,” she wrote in Murkomen’s page.
However the Senator accused Ms Njoki of suffering from horrific hallucinations and invited her to read his note for five times or else seek services of a well vast person to read on her behalf.
“You must be hallucinating, please read my note again for 5 times or ask services of someone who can read it for you,” he replied to Ms Njoki’s post.
The MCA did not take the response from the Senator kindly going by her reply that.. ” Clearly you are still nursing fumigation bruises.”
The bill has angered Ward representatives who are now preparing to file a suit in court to challenge the law which makes it easier for MCAs to be recalled by way of a simple petition.
Mt Kenya region Caucus MCAs chairperson and County Assemblies Forum member Charles Mwangi Nganga alias Ichagaki one said they are scrutinizing the law with a view of challenging it in court.
