Senate Majority Whip and Muranga Senator Irungu Kangata has inspected various road development projects in Muranga courtesy of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Majority Whip spent the better part of Wednesday with Kenya Rural Roads Authority (Kerra) officials inspecting an expansive 35- kilometer road that will connect Maragi Kiawambeu Gitui Weithaga Kabugu and Mukungai villages.
He then proceeded to Maragua to inspect the Maragua Kianjiruini Ichagaki Gikomora road which is yet to be constructed.
The Whip thanked the Kerra officials and warned Kenya Urban Roads Authority (Kurra) for their failure to construct a 3 kilometer stretch from Embassy to Maragi saying they must wake up from slumber land.
“Its sad that we even don’t have Kurra offices in Muranga there operate from Nyeri, they must wake up from slumber land and oversee the tarmacking of the said road, I will take the report back to President and explain to him about the matter,” Mr Kangata said.

Mr Kangata lobbied for the tarmacking of the road two years ago to the President who attended his wedding ceremony at Gathinja Catholic Church.
He hailed Jubilee government for initiating various road networks in Muranga move he said will open villages and businesses.
