Governor Mwangi Wa Iria in a past function

Presidential aspirant Mwangi Wa Iria has hit out at Mt Kenya Foundation (MKF) for their ‘interviews’ to Presidential aspirants saying it was a waste of time.

The governor said the foundation which is spearheaded by Equity Bank chairperson Peter Munga has no constitutional backing and likened it with cartels groupings.

Wa Iria urged those who have attended the meetings at Safari Park hotel to know that their interviews will not amount to any votes from the rich basket region nor any other region.

“They can only interview people for Secretariat, clerical or any other job opportunities in their respective companies, Kenya is not anybody’s company.

“They tell Raila, Kalonzo among others to shave and wear a tie for the interviews, such plans are overtaken by events,” Wa Iria said.

He said the likes of Munga tried such pranks in 2013 and 2017 Muranga gubernatorial contest and he defeated them promising to show them dust as was the case then.

“In 2013 and 2017 I defeated Munga even after conducting interviews to gubernatorial contenders which I never attended,” he said.

The governor spoke at Ihura when he presided the Nyota Zetu event which saw over 3000 students awarded with bursary.
