Water Principal Ps Irungu Wairagu has announced that water from boreholes in Muranga has no dogs’ fur as claimed by Governor Mwangi Wa Iria’s some months ago.
The Ps who was accompanied by Education CAS Zack Kinuthia and four MPs said the governor’s sentiment was baseless and an insult to the water technical team who conduct geological study before embarking on the project.
Speaking when he launched Mithandukuini borehole project in Gatanga, the Ps hit out at Wa Iria saying he has no loci stadi to lecture water technical team on water as he had no knowledge on such matters.
“It was said that the water from boreholes has dogs’ fur, today as I launched the water project. I have tasted it and I can confirm that the water is clean and has no elements of god’s fur. It was also said that we could not get water, but locals have confirmed that there exists clean safe drinking water,” the Ps said.
He said the Mithandukuini water will serve close to 2500 locals and that water was found at 276 meters underground adding that he shall not be visiting the County to promise water projects but to deliver them to locals.
“Jubilee government led by President Uhuru Kenyatta delivers, we 9 borehole projects in Gatanga and water projects worth billions of money in Muranga including Ithanga Water project (Sh2.5 b) Rwegetha Karangi Water project (Sh300m), Kigoro water project that will draw water from Ndakaini dam to serve residents of Gatanga at a cost of Sh300 million.
He required governor Wa Iria to go slow on water projects cautioning him not to politicize water projects saying the work has his owner who is planning and implementing the projects.
” I call upon local leaders to go slow on water politics, the work has the boss; President Uhuru Kenyatta and we have a master plan which we are following and implementing, ” he said.
According to the Ps water connectivity in Muranga is projected to reach 80 per cent by 2020
