Amani National Congress (ANC) has commenced massive grassroots recruitment drive in Nyeri as Mt Kenya region continue trooping to Musalia Mudavadi’s party.
The ANC Nyeri chapter led by Chairperson Phillip Githua said just like other Counties in Mt Kenya, Nyeri County has not been left behind in joining a strong sellable party that will produce the next President of the Republic of Kenya.
They told off Jubilee Party Vice chairperson David Murathe who urged Kenyans to prepare for Raila Odinga’s Presidency saying Mr Murathe has no locus standi to speak on behalf of Mt Kenya and that the electorate are now politically mature and able to make sound decision.
“No one can purport to speak on behalf of Mt Kenya region, anyone purporting to do so is an imposter and must know that we are free to make our political decisions since we are not robots,” Mr Githua said.
The ANC members pleaded with the ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi to consider Mt Kenya region while replacing the outgoing Secretary General Barrack Muluka who tendered his resignation letter this month.
Branch Secretary General Regina Macharia who is a former MCA said considering Mt Kenya would give the region a deep sense of belonging.
“We plead with our party leader Mr Mudavadi to appoint our son or daughter to replace Mr Muluka so that the region get a sense of belonging in the party and to show electorates that we will not be in the periphery of his government in 2022,” she suggested.

The party’s coordinator Mr Simon Gikuru applauded the Nyeri branch ANC chapter announcing that the county is a leading branch in terms of members recruitment, commitment and dedication.
He noted that the party’s new slogan “UCHUMI BORA” is guided by the party leaders’ vision for reviving the economy once Mr Mudavadi becomes President come 2022.
The branch officials include experienced leaders, former councilors, MCA’s and the immediate former Deputy Speaker Nyeri County Assembly.

The leaders thanked Mr Mudavadi for supporting the one man, one shilling, one vote in the heated revenue sharing formula and castigated politicians who pretend to befriend the voter rich Central Kenya region yet they are opposed to this formula.
